Project Description
Shepherd’s Crossing Cottages
Life Plan Community Club House Cottages Flexible Floor Plans
Christ’s Home, a small and outdated retirement community in Bucks County, is being replaced by an entirely new Life Plan Community (CCRC) called Shepherd’s Crossing on its 126-acre site. The completed first phase of the project consists of 69 cottages along with a clubhouse which includes a swimming pool, fitness and wellness center, and a great room.
The new cottages provide larger living accommodations than the small garden apartments currently available on the campus, and were identified by a market study as being highly important for the community to attract new residents. Focus groups were performed which helped Shepherd’s Crossing determine the desired amenities which included items such as large master bedrooms with walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms, larger garages, solid surface countertops, and extra storage above garage ceilings.
Three different models with distinctly different floor plans are offered, each with flexible floor plans including eat-in kitchens, large open living and dining rooms, and connecting sunrooms. Most of the cottages are organized in cul-de-sacs which create neighborhoods of approximately 16 cottages with minimal traffic and a sense of identity.
Phase two of the project is currently in construction and will add 54 more cottages to the campus.
